For the seventh time, Fashion Positions will bring fashion into an artistic context within the framework of the Positions Berlin Art Fair. From September 11 to 14, 2025, twenty Berlin-based labels will present their latest collections in Hangar 7 at Tempelhof Airport, in a spatially open, installation-style exhibition architecture. The event will have a focus on materiality, formal language, and social relevance.

From a large pool of applicants, this year’s curators, Diandra Donecker, managing director of Villa Grisebach, and Dao Tran, journalist and editor, selected 20 labels.

The format is complemented by a special presentation from Caroline Kynast, a documentary photographic work that explores masculinity as a creative, observable, and staged reality. The exhibition opens an additional, reflective space within the overall project. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the exhibited works will be donated to a charitable cause.

Adjacent to the main exhibition, the Fashion Passion Shop offers visitors the opportunity to purchase selected pieces from the participating labels directly on site.

"From the beginning, our goal was to present fashion in a context that doesn't reduce it to function or commerce," commented Kristian Jarmuschek, founder of Fashion Positions. These labels work creatively, conceptually, think socially, and design with conviction, and that deserves space. That's exactly what we create with Fashion Positions."

Participating Labels 2025 include Alexander Gigl, Cbui, Claudia Skoda, Cruba, Danny Reinke, Elodie Carstensen, Esther Perbandt, Fiona Bennett, Format:, Haderlump Atelier Berlin, Karen Jessen, Lilian Brade, Marie-Louise Müller X Ute Faber, Maximilian Gedra, Nadine Aurin, Plaid-À-Porter, Raufaser, Selva Huygens, Vanessa Baernthol, Yannic Pretzlaff. Artist Caroline Kynast will present the documentary-artistic photo project “Männersache”.

Fashion Positions was founded in 2019 to provide a platform for independent fashion labels beyond commercial presentation formats. Closely tied to the Positions Berlin Art Fair, the initiative presents fashion as a distinct design discipline and creates an interface between artistic practice and fashion expression. Through an open installation, the work of the selected labels engages directly with the audience, as spatial statements, textile objects, and conceptual designs.

The platform has become an integral part of Berlin Art Week, offering a fresh lens on fashion as a space for conceptual thinking. Craftsmanship, intellectual depth, and visual language are treated with equal importance. Fashion Positions is an initiative by Kristian Jarmuschek and takes place annually during Berlin Art Week. The project is supported by the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy, and Public Enterprises.
